A Greener Plant Pot.

Throughout their development we have been determined to make POTR Pots as environmentally friendly as possible, ensuring they fit with our long term ambition of creating a circular economy. 

With this in mind, all materials used in our pots are made from 100% recycled materials and are 100% recyclable at the end of life (should you ever choose to get rid of your POTR!). All materials have been sourced from within Europe to reduce our carbon footprint when transporting the raw materials, and all manufacturing is carried out in the UK. 

POTR pots have almost 100 x less CO2 footprint than clay or concrete plant pots. The reason for this is due to POTR pots being capable of fitting in a standard envelope when being delivered, whereas a traditional pot requires a much larger parcel, requiring delivery by van. 

By using recycled plastic, this also drastically cuts the CO2 impact compared with producing new materials like concrete or clay. It also prevents plastics ending up in landfill sites.

A 1 litre concrete pot (same size as larger POTR pot) weighs : 1.66kg

The large POTR pot weighs: 40g = 0.04Kg

However POTR uses recycled cotton as its wicking cord which uses 77% energy for recycled cotton vs virgin 0.004543 kg CO2 / kg

We use this cord which weighs: 249g per 100m

and we use 2m = 4.92g = 0.00492 Kg

CO2 foot print during manufacture:

POTR: 0.018 KG CO2 // CLAY: 0.4399 KG CO2 // CONCRETE: 0.288 KG CO2
